On April 26, 2024, Dong Zhixue, former Counselor of UNESCO from the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand, and Li Changxue, Senior Advisor of International Strategy of Whitireia Institute of Technology in New Zealand, were invited to visit Tongyuan Campus of our College. Yang Yunfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of our School, and heads of Party and government offices, Personnel Office, Academic Affairs Office, School of Architecture and Surveying Engineering, School of Transportation and Information, School of Continuing Education and International Cooperations attended the discussion. The symposium was hosted by Vice President Liu Jing.
Yang Yunfeng welcomed the guests, introduced the history of our College, the size of students, professional characteristics and the current situation of international Cooperations work, and put forward clear ideas for comprehensively and deeply promoting the exchange and cooperation between our College and Whitireia Institute of Technology in related fields. Li Changxue introduced the basic situation of Whitireia Institute of Technology in New Zealand, and proposed a plan for deepening cooperation between Whitireia Institute of Technology and our College.
Dong Zhixue said that Rewi Alley is the first New Zealand international friend to introduce the concept of modern vocational education to China, and the General Secretary Xi has repeatedly proposed to strengthen China-New Zealand educational cooperation and carry forward the "spirit of Rewi Alley".The exchange and cooperation in higher vocational education between our College and Whitireia Institute of Technology in New Zealand is a specific action and part of the implementation of the General Secretary Xi Jinping's instructions on Sino-New Zealand vocational education cooperation, which is conducive to promoting the professional construction of our university and the training of international talents.The school can use the opportunity of cooperation between the two sides to introduce high-quality educational resources, accumulate valuable experience for the future vocational education to go out, and help economic and social construction through cooperation, serve high-quality development, and train more craftsmen from big countries to solve the urgent need of national strategy
